I've been having sinus problems for a few years now. I had a ballon sinuplasty with Dr. Alavi and feel great. Dr. Alavi and his staff are amazing. They are all very nice. The office is clean and wait times are almost non-existent. Very few times do I feel the need to write a review, but they all deserve the compliments!
This facility is brand new and located in the upper hills of the suburban wealthy Santa Barbara area. Though the beauty of the office is spectacular, the staff is not. When I initially made the appointment, an office assistant immediately informed me that if my deductible was not meet then they would bill me &250.00. This was not only rude, but it expressed the practices true goal of making a profit above providing quality care. The front office assistants made insurance approval a fiasco even when I arrived and my doctor faxed a referral six times. The doctor, Dr. Alavi, is extremely knowledgeable, but after only a five minuet consultation, he deemed that I would need to schedule a separate appointment for a much needed ear tube removal. As the ear was infected, it needed urgent removal, but Dr. Alavi could only schedule two weeks after the consultation meeting. Removing an ear tube is like removing a splinter for ENTS, so I can only assume the extra appointment was for more money. When scheduling the future appointment, the front office proceeded to tell me that he only conducted "procedures" in the morning. When my other ENT put the tube in a year before, the procedure did not require a separate appointment. Even though I scheduled the appointment, I later decided to cancel due to having uncomfortable feelings about the office visit. However, Every time I called the office to cancel, the line was always busy. It kinda seemed like a scam to me as I was not able to cancel 24 hours prior to the appointment and being charged a no-show fee. In conclusion, there are many ENTs in the Santa Barbara, and so I would not recommend anyone to stop on by and give this place a try.
Dr. Stephanie Culver is the best ENT doctor specialist in Santa Barbara. Had chronic sinus infections and sinusitis and she was able to quickly diagnose me and then recommend Balloon Sinuplasty. The procedure was in office and took less than an hour and I was able to breathe again wihtin 2 days and back to work. Thank you so much!!!
Wow. What an incredible doctor. I went to his new (beautiful) office in Santa Barbara to see him for some recurring ear infections. He was clear, thorough and talked to me in terms I could understand instead of talking to me like I was a doctor. I appreciated that. He came up with a plan of action, I followed it and I haven't had an ear infection since. He has even brought a new doctor into his practice. Dr. Culver is just as amazing. It's good that their practice has options to see different doctors. It means less wait time to get an appointment. GO SEE THEM!
Dr. Alavi is a very caring ENT. He really takes the time to go through all the options with you. He helped me understand why I was having chronic sinusitis and I hope to have the balloon sinus procedure done with him very soon. It can be done in his Ventura office and is very non-invasive with little or no down time. His staff is amazing as well!
